Report by Terry Francis and Colin Rogers
Harwich took the lead in the 12th minute when Joe Knight crossed for Louie Bloom (pictured, celebrating), who netted from close range.
Peterborough came back strongly and from a free header it needed a goal-line clearance to prevent them scoring.
Knight controlled the ball cleverly on a run down the byline, then beat his marker to create another chance, but this time Bloom's shot was well saved by Boro goalkeeper Sarunas Snitkas.
With 30 minutes gone, Peterborough equalised when their skilful captain Zahid Choudhary cut inside the penalty box and curled his shot into the far corner of the net.
Shrimpers' Luke Spurling sent over a dangerous corner kick which the visitors' defence managed to clear, but half time came with Peterborough having had the edge.

After the break, Bloom went close for Harwich with an overhead kick which went inches wide of the far post.
Harwich regained the lead in the 65th minute when Spurling crossed for Knight to score with a neat glancing header, placed wide of Snitkas.
It was now the Shrimpers who looked likely winners but they needed that third goal to reinforce their territorial advantage.
However, commanding central defender Romeo Ugbene was marshalling his troops on the edge of the Peterborough penalty area to deny Harwich further opportunities.
Boro's big striker David Yishah had been a threat and in the 78th minute he broke away to beat two defenders and then, from 20 yards, beat Shrimpers keeper Brad Cook with a well-placed equaliser.
In front of a good attendance of 177, it had been an excellent contest from two good teams, with a draw a fair result.
After a lengthy spell out through injury, the Shrimpers were pleased to welcome back last season's top scorer Luke Mayhew as a second-half substitute and with the team now looking to regain second place, he will prove a vital addition to the squad.
